Always seeking to improve and perfect his craft, David Hinote is an instrumentalist teaching piano, saxophone, and clarinet. He has played saxophone since 2016 and piano since 2020, and is always looking for opportunities to perform and teach music. He received his Associate's Degree from Seminole State College studying under Steven Amann and is currently enrolled in Stetson University's music program.
David has experience performing locally and statewide, having played in multiple university ensembles. These include his performances in Stetson University's Music Symposium, Seminole State College's Jazz Night and biannual concerts, and solo performance at University of Central Florida's Saxfest. David was also a saxophonist in the 2021 All-State Small School Jazz Band and the 2021 All-State Symphonic Band in Colorado. Outside of schooling, David is active in the local music community through his attendance at regular jam sessions in more casual settings.
As a teacher, David has experience as a teaching assistant for a Middle School Band at his high school. He is passionate about teaching and believes in a student-oriented approach. David is currently an instructor for another lessons company and has experience giving private lessons for young keyboard students.
David's philosophy on music education revolves around his student-first approach that invests students in the material they are learning. Standard repertoire is important for musical development, but it is critical that students enjoy playing music and learn to interact with it in a space that they frequently engage in, whether that involves pop music or music from other media. Engaging with music at all times is what makes the art form so special.
