Shelly Flake is a passionate and seasoned performer and teacher of piano and woodwinds. She spent the past couple of decades teaching Elementary Music in the Carrollton area. She continues to teach private piano lessons and loves working one on one with young students to help them develop and reinforce music skills. Shelly also plays the clarinet in her church orchestra.
Clarinet was Shelly’s primary instrument during her college years at West Texas A&M University where she studied with Robert Spring and Doug Story. She was a Teaching Assistant and completed her Masters Degree in Music at Eastern New Mexico University.
After teaching band in Ennis, Texas for a few years she tried Elementary Music and found her calling. Shelly has experience teaching piano, recorder, clarinet, flute and saxophone.
Music has always been an important part of Shelly’s life. She continues to share this love of music with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She and her husband Bobby, a cellist, will celebrate 32 years of marriage this year.
