About Jacob Montano

Jacob Montano is a bass player, composer, producer, and videographer based in Denver, CO. He began his musical journey in 2010, when he began playing electric bass & composing electronic music. Throughout his high school career, Jacob studied upright bass with Dr. Molly Redfield of LSU. He also played trombone, baritone, and tuba in his high school marching band, and served as section leader his junior and senior year. After graduating high school, Jacob moved to Denver, where he began studying electric and upright bass with Gregory Garrison of Leftover Salmon. In 2024, Jacob graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with bachelor's degrees in audio production and bass performance. Jacob’s passion for music lies with jazz, but he also has experience playing rock, funk, gospel, pop, latin music, and more.

Jacob currently works as a producer/engineer at Colorado Sound Studios, along with performing professionally around the Denver Metro area. Having performed at such iconic venues as the Fox Theatre, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Globe Hall, and the Marquis Theater, Jacob has a deep connection to and understanding of the Denver music scene. He’s composed scores for film & TV, as well as releasing several albums as a band leader. You may also find him playing around town with his bands iies. and Ojo de Luna. As an engineer at Colorado Sound Studios, Jacob has worked with dozens of local and touring artists, including the Wu Tang Clan, Doug E Fresh, and the Colorado Symphony. He has recorded, mixed and mastered over two dozen different Albums, Singles and EPs, with his work receiving radio play on Colorado stations 102.3, 93.3, and 89.3 KUVO. Whether he’s working with young musicians, developing compositions, or crafting recorded works, Jacob’s ability to seamlessly blend artistry with technical expertise serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence.
