    About Drake Forde

When Drake Forde was a child, his musical journey began with a simple yet defining question from his mother. Rather than asking if he wanted to play an instrument, she asked, “Which instrument would you like to play?” This question set the course for the rest of his life.

Drake's musical journey began when he chose to play the viola. While he enjoyed his time with the instrument, he later transitioned to the cello, where he discovered a deep and lasting connection that felt instantly right. This shift marked a pivotal moment in his musical development, leading him to fully embrace the cello as his true musical voice.

The following year, Drake was accepted into the Atlanta Symphony's Talent Development Program, where he studied under renowned instructors such as James Birch, then a graduate student, Mary Kenney of the Azalea Trio, and Joel Dallow of the Atlanta Symphony. Alongside his participation in the TDP, Drake joined the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra. His passion for music continued through college, where he played with the University Sinfonia ensemble at the University of Georgia.

Today, Drake channels his love for music into teaching, offering private lessons and leading sectionals at JC Booth Middle School. He is also a proud member of the Centre Strings Orchestra.

Music has become an integral part of Drake’s life, all stemming from that one pivotal question.
