Jason Edel is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Originally hailing from Chicago, he moved to Denver in 2015 to explore the city's booming music scene and neighboring rocky mountains. Drawing much of his inspiration from people, travel, and nature – he strives to capture and share these profound moments of connection and emotion through musical expression.
He first picked up the guitar around age 11 and started taking lessons at a local music store called Quinlan & Fabish. His teacher, Phil Circle, was a guitarist and singer-songwriter. Jason, having been inspired to play guitar by classic rock legends, such as: The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, etc... Phil knew he had to start with the blues, which Chicago was so well known for. While learning blues, and rock & roll, he also learned classical guitar, along with music theory. Jason went on to play in many bands over the years, including the jazz band at Buffalo Grove high school. After playing guitar for some time, he decided to learn other instruments, starting with piano. This further strengthened his understanding of music theory and composition, but he still mostly focused on lead guitar. Even after finding some success with this, and winning a local Chicago's Got Talent competition with a band of his peers out of high school called Burke Valley, he still wanted something more, or different.
So, he packed up his instruments and moved to Colorado, determined to find himself and his own sound. This led him down the path to become a singer-songwriter and aspiring producer. He then studied at a studio in Boulder, called KMG, earning him a certificate in recording arts & music business. Jason has also interned and worked for Z2 entertainment, which is the company that manages all operations at the Boulder Theater, Fox Theatre, and Chautauqua Auditorium.
Today, Jason performs as a solo singer-songwriter and has collaborated on recordings with musicians from Colorado bands like Elephant Revival and Banshee Tree, to name a few. He teaches music and goes to concerts/festivals in his free time. Some of his other interests include: hiking, camping, traveling, yoga, meditation, plant medicine, technology, etc...
Jason sees the world as an endless source of adventure and inspiration. Each day is an opportunity to learn and grow and share our gifts with one another. Something as simple as a smile or a heartfelt hello has a ripple effect that goes on to shape society and echo into eternity.
